Military Grade 550 lb Tension Parachute Cord. Has many uses; survival bracelets, tiedowns for camoflauge netting, even used by astronauts during STS-82, the second Space Shuttle mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope.
The ends are melted and crimped to prevent fraying, due to it's inclusion of 7 to 9 thinner inner "yarns" which could be used as sewing utility to repair equipment, or fishing line in a survival situation.
